Moisturex Cream is used for the treatment of Dry skin conditions, Skin disorders, manufactured by Ranbaxy Labs (Consumer Healthcare) and contained the below ingridients:

Urea

Urea is a naturally occurring substance found in the surface layer of our skin, and it is an active part of our natural moisturising factor (NMF), which functions to keep skin hydrated, protected and working efficiently.
A healthy skin will typically contain 28 micro grams of urea per square centimeter a dehydrated, dry skin can see a reduction of as much as 50% and those with eczema as much as 80%.

Lactic Acid

Lactic acid is being used to rejuvenate the skin by encouraging the shedding of old surface skin cells. It can reduce the appearance of fine lines, irregular pigmentation, age spots & decreases enlarged pores. Lactic acid is a good choice for first-time peel users or for those with sensitive skin. Also often used in creams & lotions at a lower concentration for a more gentle acid-based peel.

Propylene Glycol

In cosmetics, propylene glycol is used in small amounts to keep products from melting in high heat or from freezing. It also helps active ingredients penetrate skin. In the amounts used in cosmetics, it’s not a concern in the least.

The Cosmetic Ingredient Review Board and other groups have analyzed all of the toxicology data and exposure studies concerning topical application of propylene glycol as commonly used in cosmetics products. Their conclusion was that it is safe and does not pose a health risk to consumers.

Liquid paraffin is a petroleum derivative that is also commonly referred to as mineral oil. There are many types of chemicals that are classified under the mineral oil label, and are used in a variety of applications, including manufacturing. However, liquid paraffin is a highly-refined mineral oil that is suitable for skin care product applications and even for oral ingestion.
